5.
Using identities find the value of 51 x 53
6. Draw
rough sketches of a prism and a pyramid.
7. A
square of side length 60cm and a rectangle of length 80 cm have the same
perimeter. Find which of
the two have greater area.
8. A bus
takes 2 hours to reach a certain place with a speed of 60 km/h. In how much
more or less time
will it reach the place if it travels with
a speed of 45 km/h?
9.
Factorise: am2 +bn2 +bm2 +an2
10. Express in standard form: (i) The diameter of a wire on a computer
chip is 0.000003 m.
(ii)
The speed of light is 300,000,000 m/sec.

13.Write Euler’s formula. Can a polyhedron have 5 faces, 6 vertices and
9 edges?
14. Simplify using laws of exponents:
3–5 x 10–5 x 125
5–7 x 6–5
15. Factorise: p4 – 81

19. A
closed cylindrical tank of radius 7m and height 2.1m is made from a sheet of
metal. What is the area
of the metal sheet used and how many
litres of water can it hold?
20. The
floor of a building consists of 2000 tiles which are rhombus shaped and each of
its diagonals are
70 cm and 0.5 m in length. Find the cost
of polishing the floor, if the cost per sq. m. is Rs 12.50.
21. A
loaded truck travels 14 km in 2 litres of diesel. How many litres of diesel is
required for the truck to
travel a distance of 350 km? If the cost
of diesel per litre is Rs 42.30, how many rupees must be spent
on diesel, for that distance of 350km?
22. Factorise the expressions and divide as directed: (5p2 –25p +20) ÷ ( p –1)
